Yoga Asana - Full body stretch

 Full body stretch

This is a good stretch to do any time of the day or night. It has a nice energising effect on the whole body.

How To:

  • Lie down on your mat.
  • Bring your hands into prayer position at the heart.
  • Inhale and raise your hands over head keeping palms together.
  • Lengthen through the belly, torso, and rib cage. Feel the spine lengthen, exhale and soften the arms.
  • Inhale and point the feet, exhale and flex the feet.
  • Repeat the sequence 2 more times.
  • When you've finished your reps, bring the hands back into prayer and then rest them at your sides. Let the feet be floppy and rest for 3 full breath cycles.

Cautions:

  • If you have high blood pressure don't raise your arms above your head. Instead extend your arms out to the side at shoulder height.
  • If you have shoulder problems do the same as with high blood pressure.
  • Do not do this stretch if you have serious ankle, shoulder or back problems.
Benefits:
  • Decompress's the spine.
  • Increases circulation.
  • Is both energising and relaxing.
If you would like to attend a regular yoga stretch class, contact us here at yoga meditation palm beach 4221 for our yoga stretch class schedule.

What is Harmony - Yoga Meditation Studio 4221 Palm Beach

What is Harmony?
A quick Google search will result in numerous results. Such as;
The dynamic balance that returns discord to tranquility. A state of equilibrium or equipoise.
Further searches reveal that a synonym of harmony is peace.
The question is how much harmony, peace or balance do we have in our lives? Research shows that the majority of us work full time, have 2.16 children, a mortgage and a 4 bedroom home, 2 cars, and a pet or two.
A combined 95 hour work week is not uncommon for the bread winners of an average family.
When so much of our time is taken up maintaining basic needs, there’s little wonder that our lives are in discord, that we feel pressured, stressed out and always running out of time.

Yoga meditation studio Palm Beach offers classes which will help you to relax and re-balance.

We need a combination of elements in our lives in order to create a more holistic living environment, and to exist in a state of harmony, balance & peace. The yoga teachings encourage a healthy holistic life of physical, mental and spiritual well being.
Economic development is necessary as we need to raise and support our families, but consider these words of wisdom.
"Man cannot live by bread alone."
So much of our time is taken up maintaining the physical that we seldom consider, let alone have time to devote to, the nurturing of our mental emotional and spiritual well-being.

Yoga Meditation Studio 4221 - Spinal Nerve Function Chart And Tips For A Healthy Spine

Spinal Function Chart

I thought I would post this chart. I hope you will learn something new from it. As well as the information below.

Tips for a Healthy Spine

A healthy spine is an often overlooked and essential part of a healthy lifestyle. People who suffer from back pain, particularly if it is long-term, are generally less healthy than those who do not. In fact, back pain costs are staggering not only financially, but also in terms of lost time from work and because of psychosocial problems that arise during the healing process associated with long-term back pain.

Unfortunately, approximately 80-90% of the population suffers from spinal pain at some point. People who are overweight or obese, and who smoke, lift heavy objects, or had a previous episode of back pain, are more likely to experience back pain.

Because so many people suffer from spine pain, it’s important for you to try to keep your spine as healthy as possible. Following simple posture, lifting, and healthy lifestyle guidelines can help you keep your back in good shape.

The American Chiropractic Association recommends the following spinal health tips:

Standing
  • When standing, keep one foot slightly in front of the other, with your knees slightly bent. This position helps to take the pressure off your low back.
  • Do not stand bent forward at the waist for prolonged periods of time. The muscles in your low back become deconditioned in this position, which may lead to pain.
Lifting
  • At all times, avoid twisting while lifting. Twisting is one of the most dangerous movements for your spine, especially while lifting.
  • If the item is too heavy to lift, pushing it is easier on your back than pulling it. Whenever possible, use your legs, not your back or upper body, to push the item.
  • If you must lift a heavy item, get someone to help you.
Sitting
  • Keep your knees slightly higher than your hips, with your head up and back straight.
  • Avoid rolling your shoulders forward (slouching).
  • Try to maintain the natural curve in your low back.
Reaching and Bending
  • When reaching for something above shoulder level, stand on a stool. Straining to reach such objects may not only hurt your mid-back and neck, but it can also bring on shoulder problems.
  • Do NOT bend over at the waist to pick up items from the floor or a table.
  • Instead, kneel down on one knee, as close as possible to the item you are lifting, with the other foot flat on the floor and pick the item up.
  • Or bend at the knees, keep the item close to your body, and lift with your legs, not your back.
Carrying
  • When carrying objects, particularly if they are heavy, keep them as close to your body as possible.
  • Carrying two small objects—one in each hand—is often easier to handle than one large one.
Healthy Diet and Exercise
  • While the proverbial jury is still out, we suspect that extra weight puts undue strain on your spine. Keep within 10 lbs. of your ideal weight for a healthier back.
  • “Beer belly” is likely the worst culprit, as it puts unwanted pressure on the muscles, ligaments and tendons in your low back.
  • The most efficient and effective way to reduce weight is by eating a sensible diet and exercising regularly.
  • Consult with your doctor before beginning any exercise program, particularly if you have a health condition.
Sleeping
  • Sleeping on your back puts approximately 50 pounds of pressure on your spine. Other positions may be better.
  • Placing a pillow under your knees while lying on your back cuts the pressure on your spine roughly in half.
  • Lying on your side with a pillow between your knees may also reduce the pressure on your back.
  • Never sleep in a position that causes a portion of your spine to hurt. Most often, your body will tell you what position is best.
Quit Smoking
Smokers have more spine pain than nonsmokers, and they also heal more slowly when they have an episode of back pain because the chemicals in tobacco smoke restrict the flow of blood to the tissues in and around your spine.

While following these instructions is no guarantee that you’ll be free from back pain for your entire life, it can certainly reduce your risk of developing it. These simple steps will help you keep your spine in good shape, making you a healthier, happier person.

Yoga Meditation Studio 4221 - Trees are the earths lungs

Top 22 Benefits of Trees
Here are 22 of the best reasons to plant and care for trees or defend a tree’s standing:

Trees combat the greenhouse effect
Global warming is the result of excess greenhouse gases, created by burning fossil fuels and destroying tropical rain forests. Heat from the sun, reflected back from the earth, is trapped in this thickening layer of gases, causing global temperatures to rise. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a major greenhouse gas. Trees absorb CO2, removing and storing the carbon while releasing the oxygen back into the air. In one year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 produced when you drive your car 26,000 miles.

Trees clean the air

Trees absorb odours and pollutant gases (nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulphur dioxide and ozone) and filter particulates out of the air by trapping them on their leaves and bark.

Trees provide oxygen

In one year an acre of mature trees can provide enough oxygen for 18 people.

Trees cool the streets and the city
Average temperatures in Los Angeles have risen 6°F in the last 50 years as tree coverage has declined and the number of heat-absorbing roads and buildings has increased.

Trees cool the city by up to 10°F, by shading our homes and streets, breaking up urban “heat islands” and releasing water vapour into the air through their leaves.

Trees conserve energy

Three trees placed strategically around a single-family home can cut summer air conditioning needs by up to 50 percent. By reducing the energy demand for cooling our houses, we reduce carbon dioxide and other pollution emissions from power plants.

Trees save water

Shade from trees slows water evaporation from thirsty lawns. Most newly planted trees need only fifteen gallons of water a week. As trees transpire, they increase atmospheric moisture.

Trees help prevent water pollution

Trees reduce runoff by breaking rainfall thus allowing the water to flow down the trunk and into the earth below the tree. This prevents storm water from carrying pollutants to the ocean. When mulched, trees act like a sponge that filters this water naturally and uses it to recharge groundwater supplies.

Trees help prevent soil erosion

On hillsides or stream slopes, trees slow runoff and hold soil in place.

Trees shield children from ultra-violet rays

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Trees reduce UV-B exposure by about 50 percent, thus providing protection to children on school campuses and playgrounds - where children spend hours outdoors.

Trees provide food
An apple tree can yield up to 15-20 bushels of fruit per year and can be planted on the tiniest urban lot. Aside from fruit for humans, trees provide food for birds and wildlife.

Trees heal

Studies have shown that patients with views of trees out their windows heal faster and with less complications. Children with ADHD show fewer symptoms when they have access to nature. Exposure to trees and nature aids concentration by reducing mental fatigue.

Trees reduce violence

Neighbourhoods and homes that are barren have shown to have a greater incidence of violence in and out of the home than their greener counterparts. Trees and landscaping help to reduce the level of fear.

Trees mark the seasons

Is it winter, spring, summer or fall? Look at the trees.

Trees create economic opportunities

Fruit harvested from community orchards can be sold, thus providing income. Small business opportunities in green waste management and landscaping arise when cities value mulching and its water-saving qualities. Vocational training for youth interested in green jobs is also a great way to develop economic opportunities from trees.

Trees are teachers and playmates

Whether as houses for children or creative and spiritual inspiration for adults, trees have provided the space for human retreat throughout the ages.

Trees bring diverse groups of people together

Tree plantings provide an opportunity for community involvement and empowerment that improves the quality of life in our neighbourhoods. All cultures, ages, and genders have an important role to play at a tree planting or tree care event.

Trees add unity

Trees as landmarks can give a neighbourhood a new identity and encourage civic pride.

Trees provide a canopy and habitat for wildlife

Sycamore and oak are among the many urban species that provide excellent urban homes for birds, bees, possums and squirrels.

Trees block things

Trees can mask concrete walls or parking lots, and unsightly views. They muffle sound from nearby streets and freeways, and create an eye-soothing canopy of green. Trees absorb dust and wind and reduce glare.

Trees provide wood

In suburban and rural areas, trees can be selectively harvested for fuel and craft wood.

Trees increase property values

The beauty of a well-planted property and its surrounding street and neighbourhood can raise property values by as much as 15 percent.

Trees increase business traffic
Studies show that the more trees and landscaping a business district has, the more business will flow in. A tree-lined street will also slow traffic – enough to allow the drivers to look at the store fronts instead of whizzing by.

Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach 4221 - Scrumptous Raw Strawberry Cheesecake

Delicious ...! Raw cheesecake recipe

Thanks to whomever posted this on fb A friend shared it with me.

Crust ingredients:

1 1/2 cups macadamia nuts (or a combination of walnuts and macadamia nuts)

1/2 cup dates
1/4 cup dried, unsweetened coconut
1 pinch sea salt

White cheesecake filling ingredients:

3 cups cashews
3/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup agave or honey
3/4 cup coconut oil
1 tablespoon vanilla
Up to a 1/4 cup of water, if necessary to facilitate blending

Fruit topping ingredients:

2 cups frozen strawberries
1/2 cup dates

How to make this raw cheesecake recipe

1. Throw the macadamia nuts and dates into your food processor. (Don’t add the coconut!!) Process nuts and dates until well processed but still airy.

2. Next, get our your cheesecake pan (or just a basic glass brownie pan if you’re like me and don’t have fancy cookware) and sprinkle the coconut on the bottom as your very first layer. The point of doing this is to make it so it’s easier to remove the cheesecake and the coconut stops the crust from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Then press the macadamia nuts and dates down into the pan to form the crust.

3. Throw all cream cheese icing ingredients into your high-speed blender and blend! Add as little water as necessary to facilitate blending. (Try to add as little water as possible.)

4. Place the above in freezer for an hour or so (so that it will firm up).

5. Meanwhile, throw your strawberries and dates in your high-speed blender. Blend until nice and smooth. Pour this mixture on top of the crust/cream cheese, which was just in the freezer for about an hour. Replace the raw cheesecake recipe back in freezer. Freeze until this raw cheesecake recipe reaches the desired consistency!

6. Defrost this raw cheesecake recipe for about one hour before eating (or just slice from freezer and enjoy this delicious raw cheesecake)!

Yoga Meditation 4221 - Yoga for Fat loss

Yoga can help you lose fat.

(Must be practised carefully and consistently, while paying attention to diet)

        1

Do the standing side stretch. This is a great exercise to work out the obliques (or sides of your belly) while burning off belly fat. Stand up straight with feet shoulder-width apart with arms at your side. Raise one arm straight up and bend your body from the waist as far to the side as possible. Return to centre and repeat with the opposite arm.

        2

Do the cat cow  pose. This is a great stretching pose that tightens and tones the abdominal muscles. Get on your hands and knees, positioning them about a foot apart. Look down at your mat to begin with your back is perfectly flat. Inhale and take your gaze towards the ceiling, your belly button towards your mat. Exhale bringing your head down, rounding your spine towards the ceiling, pressing your pelvis forward. Your spine will resemble a dome. Repeat. Hold each position for about two seconds, and repeat about five to 10 times.

        3

Do the locust pose. Lie flat on your stomach on your yoga mat, extending your arms and legs as far as possible. Lift your arms, chest, head and legs simultaneously, and hold for about two to five seconds, then lower. You can extend your arms out in front of you, or move them around toward your buttocks. This exercise pose engages your abs and fully utilises your ab muscles to burn fat.

        4

Do the bridge pose. This is a great exercise for burning belly fat and strengthening ab muscles. Lie down flat on your back with your knees bent and your feet about a foot apart. Place your arms close to your side, palms facing down. Exhale and lift your hips off the floor while leaving your head, shoulders and feet on the floor. Hold for about five to 10 seconds, then lower. Do about 10 to 15 reps.

        5

Do yoga crunches. Lie down on your back on a yoga mat. You can lift your hips, place your hands under your sacrum, palms facing down. Face the souls of your feet to the ceiling as you raise your legs. Using your abdominal muscles, lift your legs up toward the ceiling, lifting your buttocks about two or three inches off your hands. Do 15 to 20 reps about three times a week.

All yoga poses are best practised with a Yoga Instructor.

1 ½ cups whole raw cashews
1 cup agave nectar

Making This super food packed Vegan Carrot Cake

To make the cake batter: Soak the raisins and the dates, in separate bowls each in 1 ½ cup water for 5-10 minutes to soften. Drain the soak water and set aside.

Using a juicer, juice about 20 carrots in order to acquire the 4 cups of carrot pulp needed and drink the carrot juice ?

In the vita-mix grind the almonds into a fine mill. Add the dates and one cup of the raisins and grind until you have a smooth paste. In a large bowl, mix with the carrot pulp, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, lemon zest, orange zest, sea salt and walnuts, and the remaining one-cup of raisins.

Blend the cashews; agave nectar and ½ cup of the date soak water, orange juice, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla until smooth. Add a touch more of the date soak water if necessary to aid in blending. Add powdered coconut and blend well. It may be necessary to help the blending along by scraping the sides of the blender with a rubber spatula and continue to blend. Allow to stand in the refrigerator if necessary to thicken.

Put the Super Food Vegan Carrot Cake Recipe Together

To layer the cake: Split the cake batter in half. Line a serving platter with plastic wrap or waxed paper. Press half of the dough into an even circle. Slip pressed dough on plastic wrap or waxed paper off the platter. Spoon the remaining frosting on top of the cake and spread evenly over the top and sides.
If you wish, this cake can be prepared into one layer. Press the cake dough into an even circle on a serving platter, and frost evenly.

For best results, allow chilling and setting in the fridge for one hour or more. Stencils can be used to create designs. Cut starts, hearts, and spirals out of cardboard and lay on the cake before sifting, or sprinkle with ground almonds and cinnamon.

Benefits of Coconut Oil - Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach 4221

Bugs love to bite me, must be something in the blood. I tried my regular trusty solution 'Tee Tree Oil' without any relief.
I have been using coconut oil for everything these days so thought I would give it a go. The effect was instant. No more itching. I have it close at hand in the event that it flares up again later in the day BUT I am very impressed. Coconut oil 'rocks'

Here are a few other uses for coconut oil. Yes ... you guessed it, I am a BIG fan.

Ways to Use Coconut Oil

By Amanda Christian

1. Healing Bug Bites and Other Cuts. When coconut oil is applied to scarps or cuts it forms a thin layer that protects the cut from dust and bacteria. When applied directly to bug bites, it can stop the itching sensation. Coconut oil also speeds up the healing process.

2. Eat It. This is perhaps the most obvious use, but very important nonetheless!  You might be saying, “but wait, coconut oil is a saturated fat”, and while that may be true, just roll with me for a moment. Not all saturated fats are created equal. Coconut oil is composed primarily of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) that are burned almost immediately for energy production. Bruce Fife says in his book The Coconut Oil Miracle, “Eating foods containing MCFAs is like putting high octane fuel into your car. The car runs more smoothly and gets better gas mileage. Likewise, with MCFAs, your body performs better because it has more energy and greater endurance”. In addition, coconut oil wont produce free-radicals upon heating like other vegetable oils do. It can be used in cooking without fear!

3. Body Lotion. In my opinion, coconut oil is the best natural skin lotion available. I have been using it as my body and face lotion for years and my skin has never looked better. Not to mention, is smells amazing! Coconut oil is quickly absorbed and won’t leave your skin feeling greasy. One jar of coconut oil is my body lotion, face lotion, anti-wrinkle cream, eye-cream, stretch mark cream and massage lotion. Wow, not bad for something that costs just 20 bucks!

4. Hair Care. Coconut oil makes a great hair mask. Apply a few teaspoons of melted coconut oil to your hair and let it soak in for a few hours or overnight, then wash it out. It will leave your hair very shiny and smooth!

5 Makeup Remover. This one is so simple but you will be amazed at how well it works. Just take a cotton pad and dab some coconut oil on it and rub over your face and eyes.

Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach - Health Alert - Mango Smoothie

Toxic Food

I think this photo speaks for itself.

We have probably all been guilty of bad food choices some time in our life. The main thing is to first of all, see the need for change and then try to move beyond where we are right now.

Try to start slowly by introducing fresh fruit, veges and whole grains.

Fresh juices or smoothies provide an instant supply of nutrition to our cells. They are quick and easy to make and are delicious.

Try this delicious Mango Smoothie:

Ingredients

Serves: 2
  • 1 ripe mango
  • ⅓ cup (85 g) plain low-fat yogurt, chilled (without rennet)
  • 200 ml organic milk, chilled (or try almond milk)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • seeds from 6 green cardamom pods (optional)

Preparation method

Prep: 5 minutes

Variations

*Tropical banana smoothie

Replace the mango and plain yogurt with 1 large sliced banana
⅓ cup (85 g) tropical fruit flavoured yogurt (without rennet)

* Kiwifruit and raspberry smoothie

Use 2 peeled and chopped kiwifruit
1¾ cups (225 g) raspberries
300 ml apple juice
Sweeten with a little honey, if you think it needs it.

* Pear and blackberry smoothie

2 peeled, cored and chopped ripe pears
⅔ cup (130 g) blackberries
the pulpy flesh of 2 passion fruit
300 ml light cranberry juice.

* Pineapple and strawberry smoothie

1 peeled, cored and chopped small pineapple
250 g strawberries (about 1 punnet)
300 ml apple juice

Health points
Smoothies are made very quickly, using raw fruit, so they retain the maximum nutritional value of their ingredients.

* When made with milk and yogurt, a smoothie will also contain protein, calcium and many B vitamins getting close to being a meal in a glass.

* Mango is an excellent source of the anti-oxidant beta carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A. This vitamin is essential for healthy skin and good vision, especially in dim light. Mangoes also provide substantial amounts of vitamin C as well as vitamins B6 and E.

Yoga Meditation Palm Beach - Real Happiness ..!

Happiness

Everybody wants happiness, not just the souls in human bodies BUT also the living beings in the bodies of cats, dogs and so forth.

Why is happiness so important to us?

It is because 'we' or 'I' am by nature a spiritual being ... eternal, full of bliss (extreme happiness) and knowledge.

We, are more than a physical body, or a subtle body ... WE are ... as described in the ancient Vedic texts and as stated above 'eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss.'

What conclusion can we draw from this? What does this mean?

If we refer to the ancient writings we find that 'WE' are not a physical body, BUT we inhabit a physical body ... temporarily.  'WE' are NOT matter, but because we inhabit a physical body we mistakenly think that  'I' am matter, 'I' am this 'Body.'

Lacking in knowledge we go through life seeking happiness via the senses, trying to unite with material sense objects. Our vision is clouded by the influence of the material energy. In this condition we mistakenly think that union with matter, (in one form or another) will bring about the happiness we so earnestly crave. We want happiness, happiness is vitally important to us ... just as breath is to life.

Now here's the thing, we are spirit in essence. It is actually impossible for spirit and matter to combine, they are two different energies ... it's like trying to mix oil and water together, it can't be done.

Yes ... there is some happiness here, but it is fleeting, there is love here, but it is fleeting. Even if everything, our environment, or our family were perfect and perfectly loving THIS would still not be enough for us, our hearts ... the 'soul.'  WE ... need more.

Each individual, spiritual person needs more than anything this world has to offer. We need to be connected in love to the most beautiful, most loving Supreme Spirit Soul. This is the only way that the soul ... (spirit spark), will find the extreme happiness we need - the peace, comfort, shelter, satisfaction, love and bliss that we are always searching for.

When a person consistently applies the teachings of the Yoga philosophy in their life, they come to experience that the more their dormant relationship with the supreme friend awakens, one benefit of this is that good qualities increase, they develop more  patience, more tolerance, more love and more care for others. They can still have their loving family relationships, still love and care for their relatives and friends, but now ... even more than before. They acknowledge and respect the eternal person sitting in and 'using' that physical body. This respect and care also reaches beyond the human race to include ALL sentient beings, all life forms cows, dolphins, whales, cats, dogs etc,. etc,.

Such are the prolific fruits of a GOOD tree, the profound influence of the sacred teachings of the Vedas. These transcendental gifts are shared freely, passed to humanity by the wonderful messengers of the Supreme Soul. Yoga Meditation Palm Beach 4221 - The heart is like a garden Grow compassion :)

com·pas·sion [kuhm-pash-uhn]
noun

1.

A feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

A True Yogi -

A fully transcendental and fully enlightened personality feels deep concern and sympathy for ALL living beings especially those who have not yet awakened ... to their spiritual, transcendental nature.

All self realised souls are experiencing an amazingly profound connection with the supreme soul, a relationship which automatically includes an incredible amount of happiness and joy. They tell us that this same blissful experience is available for all sentient beings regardless of race, gender, or age etc., They tell us that this spiritual quest is the prime duty for all human beings and ultimately, all living entities.

In this age, known  as the age of Kali, or Kali Yuga - we are especially fortunate. In one very special way we are fortunate indeed. In this particular yuga, unlike in previous yugas where the quest for enlightenment or self - realisation meant that one needed to undergo many arduous austerities - in this  yuga we are able to attain the same perfect result (self-realisation) as the yogi's did 1000's of years ago simply by following a very clear and easy process.

There are no hard and fast rules, we can practise privately, or we can practise with our friends or family members. We can get together in small numbers or HUGE groups and sing or repeat the sweet, very beautiful sound vibrations (also known as yoga mantras) the names of the supreme. The supreme person - our eternal best friend, and ever well-wisher.

The transcendental personalities who are living their connection with the supreme, tell us that we also have this connection, but we have forgotten it. They encourage us to hook up spiritually through meditation. Yoga Mantra Meditation is the recommended process in this day and age for reconnecting spiritually and coming to the condition of remembrance. Just by adding the singing of the names of the supreme to our lives we are able to wake up from the condition of sleep and forgetfulness that we are currently in. We gradually start to remember who we are, our spiritual identity, and how important it is to live a holistic balanced lifestyle, nurturing body, mind and spirit.

We begin to appreciate how important each second of our life is. We more and more begin to value time and appreciate the fact that we should spend it wisely, in pursuit of spiritual remembrance, rather than fritter it away solely in the pursuit of material goodies. Each second, every moment is incredibly precious, once gone we can never get it back. Economic development has its place in our lifes journey  BUT our quest for spiritual truth should be our number one priority.

It is good to be aware of the fact that when it comes time to leave our body, what we have been able to accrue spiritually is all that we can take with us, that's it, that's all...! Nothing else! We can't take the billion dollars we may have spent our lifetime working to get. Money, material possessions, name, fame, all of that is no good to us when it time for us to give up this mortal coil. We cannot take any of it with us, all of the material things we have collected during our lifetime remains behind. I say again "We can't take any of it with us." Now, this could sound depressing, to think our entire lives may have been spent 'gathering' ...! All of our time used up accumulating 'stuff' that in the end has NO value. We could however see this in a positive light and use this knowledge as a really good motivator. We can now think very carefully and choose wisely how to spend our time. A balanced lifestyle body, mind, spirit is an absolute necessity for human beings as is the quest for spiritual wisdom.

We have all experienced that it can be extremely difficult to navigate through life. I find the simple task of reading a regular street map to be a very daunting challenge, let alone trying to figure out the very complicated map of LIFE ... and how best to live it.

When we have quiet contemplative moments we should ask ourselves. What is life about? How can I live my life in the most positive way? How can I get the most out of life?

Fortunately there are answers. Answers to any question you may have ever had. For those who desire, seek out, or choose the path of a spiritual quest, there is help at hand. We are not left to try to figure it out all by ourselves. There is a road map, a perfect plan and a well trodden path forged by numerous souls who have sojourned before us on their journey along the road to spiritual success. No detail has been left out, this blueprint has been scientifically explained, all we need to do is follow.

A very simple road. A very satisfying and joyful path.

Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach 4221- Christmas And Lord Jesus.

This is a pretty funny caption.

Not exactly sure why I decided to post this one apart from the fact that the Christmas season has recently come and gone.

When I was a child, Christmas was all about going to church, nativity scenes, school plays depicting the life and especially the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. It seemed as though everywhere you went you were confronted with reminders of little baby Jesus and it was really nice.

Yes ... we gave each other gifts and families got together and we all tried to be on our best behaviour even around 'prickly' Aunt Mary, or stuck up Aunt Rosie. We practised, patience and tolerance and basically - good will to all men. It was a time and an opportunity to mend bridges. If we had, had a falling out with a family member, we practised 'forgiveness' or 'kindness' 'genorosity' 'charity' All of those lovely things came into focus during the Christmas season. We tried to 'be good' at least during that time, out of a sense of respect and a feeling that we wanted to please Lord Jesus and God. Like we knew intuitively that to behave in such a way was the right thing to do.

Most of us were bought up as church goers and as children we went to the occasional Sunday school class where we were taught to be respectful, helpful, generous of spirit and so on. All of these nice
qualities were instilled in us due to the teachings of Lord Jesus.

How quickly society and world views change. I miss the Christmas season as it was back then, when I was a child. I miss seeing the nativity scenes everywhere and the message of Lord Jesus and Jesus movies being broadcast on telly. Such badly made movies they were, but I would always get sucked into them. I couldn't help but admire that great personality - Lord Jesus and the great determination he had, the huge sacrifice he made because he loved us and he loved God. Thinking of those who condemned him with compassion as demonstrated clearly by his words 'Father forgive them for they know not what they do.' How incredible is that ..! An absolutely, awesomely, amazing person, lover of God, a true teacher by example.

Thank you is so NOT enough.  BUT I struggle to find ANY words to express the depth of admiration one feels so, will leave it as that.Thinking about him and all that he tried to give us, the ultimate of all gifts ... love for the father, I come to the conclusion that if 'we' all of us as individuals try to follow his first commandment and his second he would be happy.

Again I say, he was a truly remarkable individual. An absolutely super incredible person, son and lover of God. His writings, or his words as contained in the Bible today amount to just a few pages BUT his instructions were just as clear then as they are now.

Commandment 1

'Love thy God with all thy heart, thy mind, thy soul, they entire being'

Commandment 2

'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'

I think that if we try to at least follow both of these commandments, Lord Jesus would be both happy with and proud of us. In fact all of the great saints and sages present today and all of those who have ever walked this planet would be smiling.

They come to this earth to help us. They teach by example and offer us guidance while they are here. When they depart this world they remain with us still, in their written words. They want us to experience true happiness. They, experience true happiness and because they love and care for us, (and all living beings) they give us the means by which we can come to that same condition of true happiness.

As we know, Lord Jesus practised meditation. The types of meditations taught at the Yoga Meditation Studio are prayers and are very comforting, very soothing, very satisfying to us the soul. Truly, lovely ways of meditating. You can experience it for yourself when you find your way here.

Wishing you well

Yoga Meditation Studio Palm Beach 4221 - Kindness - Yoga Classes Txt: 0404076108

Kindness

Sages and saintly people since time immemorial have always taught gentleness and kindness. The most well known person in the West would be Lord Jesus Christ.

His first commandment was "Love thy God with all thy heart, all thy mind and all thy being"

His second commandment was "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

We find that in many parts of the world our brothers and sisters are having to deal with quiet severe conditions. We won't go into that here BUT ... I'm sure you know what I mean without having to go into details. It's there right in front of us daily ... courtesy of the newspapers and other forms of media.

In general, human beings are primarily good with hearts of gold, although our circumstances and environment can unfortunately cause a change to take place making it so that peoples hearts harden and they become very cruel.

Never the less it is best to follow the example of the saints and sages (past and present) who lead by example, who are God Loving, Compassionate, Kind, Forgiving, Tolerant, Intelligent, Honest, Trustworthy, Responsible, Caring, Loving, Humble & Generous. The friend to all living beings regardless of the type of body they inhabit ie tree, bird, cat, dog, human ... I think that about covers it.. Lol ..!

They exhibit great character, tirelessly working for the welfare of all souls. They are great examples and role models for humanity, advocating kindness not only to humans, but to ALL sentient beings.

We could learn a lot from their example.

The practise of yoga meditation makes it so that we become more thoughtful, more introspective, & caring. If this interests you be sure to contact us. Give us a call or shoot us a txt, find out about a yoga meditation class near you.

Yoga meditation 4221 - Holistic Treatments - Natural therapies

For many people, particularly those in the western world, holistic pain relief solutions such as acupuncture, and herbal medicines are novel concepts. However, the rest of the world is probably wondering what the fuss is about, because these traditional approaches to holistic pain relief have been around for thousands of years and are still widely accepted until today.

Some studies, including a small well-conducted trial, have reported relief from pelvic pain after acupuncture or acupressure, a technique that applies small pins or pressure to specific points on the body. It is believed to work by exciting nerve receptors in those locations that interact with pain blockers in the brain.
Some women report relief with reflexology, an acupressure technique that uses manual pressure on the body's vital points located in the ears, hands, and feet. These Chinese holistic pain relief methods are based in the belief that health is determined by the level of chi (vital life energy) that is inside the body. This energy is thought to move through pathways called meridians, which connect to specific organs in the body.
People use different terms when describing systems and methods used in the scope of holistic medicine.  The most popular among the terminologies are alternative medicine, complementary medicine, and natural healing, all of which use procedures that are non-invasive.
